My partner and I were both first time homebuyers, and recently purchased a new home with the help of Willo and her team. As first time home buyers we did not know what we were in for or how to start the whole process of buying a home. We did a LOT of research, and met a lot of real-estate agents while attempting to go at it alone. We realized quickly that we needed help. However, we found real-estate agents irritating and phony. Preamble: I have a black and white personality, limited time, and short patience. I cannot stress enough that this is the MOST IMPORTANT trait you are looking for in a real estate agent because you snooze you lose when it comes to the battle of the properties.
2. She listens – You tell Willo something once and she gets it.
3. She is efficient and timely – She was quick, almost immediate, in her responses to our emails, texts, or phone calls.
4. She is competitive – She strives to be the best in whatever she does and it shows. If we were interested in a property we had a viewing ASAP. We were always happy to have her at an open house with us because she dominated the floor.
5. She is knowledgeable – Sadly we went to many viewings where the listing agent knew nothing about the property they were selling or had their facts wrong. Willo was always on the ball, kept them on their toes, researched the property and the area extensively before we arrived, and asked questions we would have forgot to ask otherwise. Willo does not “wing it” – if she does not know the answer she owns up to it and finds out what the answer is. Willo’s honesty was always appreciated.

My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about The Ruth & David Group. They have sold 2 of our properties now – one in 2010 and one this fall. The 2010 sale was in the Commercial Drive area and the 2015 sale was in Mount Pleasant. They are just excellent. In both cases, we had multiple tenants for them to coordinate and in both cases, none of the tenants ever complained. They are great to deal with –exceptionally hard-working, professional, knowledgeable, flexible, efficient, low stress, and amusing. Of course, they got us buyers for the price we wanted in both cases. I just don’t know why you would use any other realtor if you are selling your house in East Vancouver.

Ruth and Dave have been our realtors for at least 25 years. Ruth and David are well known in our area for being excellent realtors.  Many of our friends have raved about working with them. So they were an easy choice for us when we decided to sell our East Van duplex. But we were even more impressed with Ruth than we expected to be. The Ruth & David Group is probably the most active Real Estate Team in the Commercial Drive area. I have been impressed time upon time by their knowledge of the history and culture of the Commercial Drive area. They seem to know everyone and everyone seems to know them. Due to this when it came time choose a Real Estate Agent or Team to represent us our immediate first choice was The Ruth & David Group. Ruth and Corey came out to meet us, see our place, find out what our situation was, what we were looking to achieve and give us their assessment of what they could get for us. They were upfront and frank about everything, no over estimations of our house’s worth or promising the world to get our business. Just a calm, reasoned appraisal of our situation and suggestions tailored to our specific needs. When it came time to put our place on the market they were easy to work with and incredibly efficient. Everything was arranged in 1 week, photos and floor plans put online and they had already put the word out to clients they knew were waiting for a property like ours. Our property was on the market for only 1 week. From what I understand approximately 50 groups saw our house in 4 days of showings. An incredible amount of activity for just 7 days of being on the market. In the end we had 8 offers on the 8th day. This lead to us getting a final selling price that was 23% over asking. All the way through this Corey helped us with everything and Ruth and David were in the background giving us sage advice and reassuring words to help us get through the more stressful parts. Joy was managing all of the details and Willo was handling all of our last minute questions during the Closing Period. It was an amazing whirlwind experience and yet it never made us feel like we were over our heads. The Team was truly amazing. Wow. I was so impressed with the amazing service and thrilled with the results the team provided in selling my condo. Having not gone through the process before Ruth was very patient in answering all of my questions, guiding me through the steps and working with me. Also, I was selling while out of town and she was terrific in running around and tracking down keys and getting documents to my tenant to sign. Selling when you have a tenant can be tricky but due to the professionalism there were no problems. My only regret was that I didn’t hire them when I bought the place originally. Highly recommend.

Buying or selling a house can be a very scary thing (especially in Vancouver)……so emotionally charged, with so many real consequences. I used Ruth and David for both.
