The holiday season is here and there are some exciting events going on in East Van over the next few weeks! The Eastside Flea Holiday Market is bringing together 50+ local vendors, food trucks, games and live music at the Ellis Building. Start your holiday shopping early this year and beat the crowds! Another of East Vancouver’s most highly anticipated four-day visual arts festival is the Eastside Culture Crawl, as they celebrate their milestone 20th anniversary. Nearly 500 artists will be opening their studios, homes and garages to the public. Here are some events you won’t want to miss!

Vancouver’s favourite place to be on a rainy Saturday returns for its 6th season! The Nat Bailey Winter Famers Market features a great selection of locally grown vegetables and fruit, meat and seafood, artisan cheese and bread, herbs and baked goods, prepared foods, handmade craft, and food trucks. This producer-only market is located in the parking lot of Nat Bailey Stadium and runs Saturdays, 10am-2pm from Nov 5-April 22 (closed Dec 24 & 31).

Shop local all winter long at Vancouver’s newest farmers market! The Hastings Park Winter Farmers Market starts Sunday, Nov 6 and will feature 30+ vendors each week, including a great selection of locally grown vegetables and fruit, meat and seafood, artisan cheese and bread, herbs and seasonal nursery items, baked goods, prepared foods, handmade craft, and food trucks. Market is located between the Forum and the Agrodome, and runs Sundays, 10am-2pm from Nov 6 –April 30 (closed Dec 25, Jan 1). There is free parking for shoppers at Gate 2 off of Renfrew Street.
Eastside Culture Crawl

The Eastside Culture Crawl, Vancouver’s highly anticipated four-day festival of visual arts, design, and crafts, celebrates its milestone 20th anniversary – November 17 – 20, 2016 in nearly 500 artist studios, homes, and garages throughout Vancouver’s Eastside. Boasting its largest line-up of artists, venues, and events to date, the Crawl will welcome more than 25,000 visitors to intimately experience this vibrant and inspiring neighbourhood – the most densely populated community of artists across Canada. Special 20th anniversary programming includes a retrospective juried exhibit, As The Crow Flies, showcasing a wide selection of past and present Crawl artists, and a brand new Talking Art Series featuring four artist talks at the Arts Factory. Katami Designs Studio and Gallery will be featuring the serene landscape paintings of 14-year-old UK-based painting prodigy Kieron Williamson and hosting several FREE arts and crafts workshops for children and their families throughout the month of November.
