One of Vancouver’s Most Historic Buildings: The Malkin

Looking back at Vancouver through what remains of today’s heritage and historical buildings in the city, one will come across the famous name William Harrold Malkin. Malkin was once standing mayor for the city and built a number of Warehouses that were home to his Wholesale Grocers and Coffee Companies. One of those Warehouses is still standing and home to one of our newest listings: 501-141 Water St in the historic Gastown. This heritage designated building is also known as The Malkin Building.

This historic building was originally built in 1898 and upgraded to strata lofts in 1996. One of the oldest standing buildings left in Vancouver, this property has exposed brick walls, original fir flooring, and spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains, Ocean and Canada Place. There’s a reason why Vancouver chose to preserve this prime piece of Real Estate.
