Residential Conveyancing in Vancouver

While we realtor’s would like to hold our client’s hand through the entire buying or selling process, there is a time where we have to let go. Briefly. Once you have an accepted offer in place and have removed any conditions, you will need to hire a lawyer or notary to complete the purchase or sale.

Residential Purchase Closing Process

Be sure to hire a lawyer or notary that specializes in real estate conveyancing to avoid any unnecessary delays or costs. Typical fees are between $800-$1200 depending on the services. You’ll make an appointment to go into the office a few days before completion. Our office will take care of sending the required documents. Make sure they are aware of any travel plans you may have around completion time so they can make any necessary arrangements to accommodate. The notary or lawyer will register the transfer and mortgage documents and notify you that the purchase has completed. We will then hand over the house keys on the Possession Date, in which you can start moving in and open up a bottle of Champagne!
